Hi Sarah, that’s a very good idea to have your photos done earlier to give yourself a few more photo opportunity options. I think we’ll have a long gap between ceremony and reception to allow lots of photos, but that can get rushed. You raise a fantastic point in your blog about setting the budget first and then working out the details. If you start with an agreed budget then the list works to that, instead of the other way around.

Oh I’m really happy for you marnielouanne! It sounds like you found your perfect venue, and when it’s right then everything just falls into place, like the numbers. Was it difficult limiting your list to 80? I imagine it would be hard having to say no to wider circles of friends.

Thank you! You know, while we were at Hickson Reserve fiance pointed across to Lavender Bay and he said “What about over there?” Maybe our place is there! I will definitely follow it up. x Alicia

It’s near Luna park. It’s so beautiful and private. Maybe be worth having a look.

Though we are stuck on venues as well, being in a town that doesn’t have many attractive venues that also have nice photo taking areas nearby we are going to do photographs before the actual event and hope that the venue(s) that we find fit our 50-60 people without looking empty.

We didn’t have trouble with our venue as we chose it long ago, randomly. So when my lovely fiancee proposed, it was the simple case of, you still want it there, yeah? So a week later it was booked. Good news for us was that the room only held 80 people (YES!) and then when I went to talk to the church I’d wanted to be married in since I was 4 years old…oh would you even read about it…it only holds 80!!! So that’s the excuse we’ve been able to use when people are requesting additional guests, they just don’t fit!
